Travel Insurance & Redundancy

We have booked a holiday to Florida for next year (Oct 2011) and we're yet to arrange our travel insurance. We are a family of four (2 adults, 2 children) and my parents will be with us.
I understand that they have to take their travel insurance out separately to us as groups seem to only allow over 18's and families only allow up to two adults.
We have paid our deposit which was £250 per person so a total of £1500. My dad is facing possible redundancy next month but nothing definate. If he does get made redundant we won`t go as the total expense will be too much.
I realise that policies will cover redundancy but will we all get our deposits back as the booking is for all six of us?
Thanks

Get it soon.
The risks start from your booking date
e.g. one of you could get ill and have the trip cancelled.

He has either been formally told he is at risk of redundancy or not.
Rumours don't caount for anything.
So what is the situation formally?
If it's just unofficial and he knows nothing official then get cover ASAP

You need to buy a policy that coevre the redundancy of anyojne in your travelling party.
For example here (no connection, just an exampkle from google)
https://www.preferential.co.uk/TRAVEL-INSURANCE-FOR-REDUNDANCY.html
If he is already formally at risk, you won't be able to get cover.0
