Switching to Santander high interest current account...

If you open this account, is there any requirement to use it as your 'proper' current account, other than paying in the £1000/month?
i.e., could I open it but keep my salary being paid into my existing account and immediately pay £1000 of it into the Santander account? Would that satisfy the requirements for 'switching' my account to them?
I don't have any direct debits going out of my existing current account anyway, so all I actually use it for is receiving my salary and getting cash out of the cashpoint.
Thanks!

I don't know but I just applied and said I will use it as my "main" account (not second account) but will only fund it by standing order, at £1000/month. Let's see what they decide as their wording says it should be used as my "main account" and I should pay in at least £1000 per month. Didn't read the T&C's word for word but didn't see anything explicitly saying a salary must be paid in...
I only really plan to use it to earn 5% on £2500. Will just cycle £1000 between my other bank accounts each month. Also set up a dummy direct debit on one of my other dormant accounts to qualify for the £100 switching bonus + £35 from TopCashBack. Hope it all comes through which would effectively give me 10% pay back over the year!0
