try the travelodge, if you book in advance they are nice and cheap and I know they do family rooms.

Alternatively, there's loads of Guest houses in Horley (a short bus/taxi ride to the airport). Google for "Massetts Road Horley" and you'll find loads!

We have used the travellodge on 3 occasions only paying £26 each time. Have then used either APH parking or meet and greet. Travellodge is fine for a night's stay.
No Matter what you do there will be critics.

Unfortunately you will find most hotel rooms will only accomodate 4.
Some hotels have adjoining rooms but you would obviously have to pay for 2 rooms.

Depending on the ages of your kids you'd probably still fit in one room as they are usually doublebed and sofabed!

Just don't all go through together when you check in and no one will probably notice!

The Travellodge is a family room for 2 adults and 2 children, fine as long as your children are I would say under 12.

We used this is August. Very nice people 10 mins from Gatwick. They charged us £75 for a family room for the night, then drove us to Gatwick in their car, looked after my car for 2 weeks and picked us up when we flew back. Breakfast included. lovely place to stay too and all cheaper than a car park alone.

I live in Crawley (as name suggests!!!) which is right outside Gatwick. There are tons of hotels in the area, but they vary pricewise.

There is the holiday inn, the arora, the george which is in town and supposedly haunted, the copthorne hotel..

    Have a look at https://www.booking.com/city/gb/crawley.html?aid=303948;label=Crawley-en

Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.
