New Dad Hamper..ideas needed please

Im currently expecting our first baby (im due October, but there is a possibility that s/he will be evicted next week..I have high BP, protein in urine, anaemic, his/her growth has slowed, and there isnt as much fluid around the baby)

Oh has been so fantastic throughout the pregnancy, and is so excited at being a Dad (he's even gone and bought a Volvo!)

I want to do him a little hamper, from myself and the baby, apart from the Jon Smith Guide to babys i cant think of what to put in it, but I want to show him that he means the world to me.

Can anyone help...my poor brain is fuddled!

  • What a lovely thought. I bought DH an I'm the Daddy t.shirt :) I'd pop in some beer - always good for Dads, a Daddy photo frame, Daddy mug (bit of a Daddy theme here :) perhaps after your baby arrives you could get some hand and footprints and get a little mousemat or coaster or table mat made - could print on thick card and get it laminated at Staples. Don't forget the matchsticks too for his eyes when he's helping with the night feeds :) and perhaps a comfy cushion to lay on while he rocks your baby back to sleep at night !!!

    What a lovely idea!

How about a peg for his nose when nappy changing?

There are some very cool new dad t-shirts here. May get Nappy Head stuff cheaper on ebay? More 'dad' t-shirts on Play.com (remeber to go via Quidco if buying at Play.com).

Some mugs here on Amazon. I bought my OH the daddy cool one when we had DS2.

Good luck with everything, life will never be the same again (in the best possible way!) xxx

That's a really nice idea. I'm also due in Oct (the 17th) and think I might do something similar. I have just bought my hubby a Daddy Cool mug from Debenhams in the sale. I was thinking of giving him it for Xmas, but I might give him it sooner if I decide to do a hamper. This is the mug I bought:
