8000 number?

I keep getting calls from a number that starts....8000 followed by 6 digits.
I am not answering because I've never seen a code like that before, can anyone throw any light on this.
Thanks

  • Possibly a Freephone Number from the 08000 xxxxxx series.

With the first 0 missed off.

    What was full number?

dot as it is a free phone number can you call it and see how they answer? I had a simlar call every day last week (can't remember the number) but when I rang I got a recorded message saying it was the Telegraph with an offer for a reduced sub.
