Base rate & instant access savings

Crystal ball time, people!
Where do people think the instant access savings rates are heading? I see that base rate's been held at 0.5% today. I have £24k with Citibank coming to the end of its 3% bonus period on 19th Oct (drops to 0.75%). It was 3.3% when I opened it last year.
I'd rather go with "the AA" rather than Santander as I would be near the FSCS limit with my other savings. Plus I''ll earn a £11.75 more in interest. If anyone has opened an AA account, do you have to send much off in the way of ID or other paperwork. I've had zero dealings with HBOS in the past.
Thanks.

When I opened my AA account, they didn't need any ID as they verified my identity electronically. The opening process was very smooth and straightforward.
You do need to have a cheque book in your name though, as the opening deposit needs to be by cheque.
Bear in mind that if you fail electronic verification and you need to provide ID, you can take the ID into a Halifax/Bank of Scotland branch, and they'll verify it for you.0 -

Have you considered the Lloyds Vantage thingy. Open 3 accounts and put £7k in each which will earn you 4%. You could put £2.5k in Santander earning 5%. You will need to put £1k a month into each of these accounts, but you can use the same £1k, just bounce it arround using a SO.
Whilst you're at it, open a Halifax acc (no requirement to keep any money here), cycle the £1k through this account also and they pay you £5/month for nothing.
Overall you'll earn more than you did this year.
