I've been given some corn of the cobs in exchange for some applesapart from cooking them by boiling and serving with butter has anyone got any meal or recipes how I can use them or if I can freeze some?

Whenever I get fresh sweetcorn I always use it to make Chinese-style chicken and sweetcorn soup. Yum yum!
You can certainly freeze the corn once you've removed it from the cobs, so I would imagine you could freeze the whole cobs if you wanted to. I tend to blanch the corn before freezing, so you would probably need to do the same with the cobs, I would think. I've never tried it, though - they never seem to last long enough, somehow!Back after a very long break!0 -
they do freeze - you can shuck them first (cut the kernels off the cob). I would probably blanch a bit before freezing. They're lovely boiled whole and then griddled/ovenbaked with some garlic and chilli flakes rubbed over. I use them in pumpkin and sweetcorn soup, tuna and sweetcorn fritters (mini pancakes with tuna, sweetcorn and grated cheese, using SR flour)0

I love sweetcorn, normally cook whole ones in the microwave. Open the leaves out but don't remove, pull off the hairy bits (silk) and rub some marg or butter over. Place leaves back over and microwave - mine takes about 7/8 mins I think till done quite a while. Best to cook for 2-3 mins, check and put on for longer.
My fav is on top of homemade pizzas. We normally have cheese, mushroom, spring onion, cherry tomatoes halved and topped off with a ton of sweetcorn and more cheese. Delicious0 -

I recently got some quite cheap, and froze them whole.
No problem at all0 -
I often freeze them whole after blanching in boiling water for 2 or 3 minutes. Once they've drained I wrap them individually in cling film to prevent freezer burn and them them in a big polythene bag. They keep well for ages like this.0
