Tax Credits - Backdated?

Well, mystery solved. Apparently I had been overpaid from last year, but instead of simply telling me - they decided to not tell me, take the money out of my backdated cash, give me the rest of the backdated cash (£31) and then pay me slightly less money every week.

When I suggested to the tax credits adviser that I perhaps should have been told, she agreed and then blubbered on about how it was technically on the tax credit awards notice. However she then agreed with me when I said that they may as well be in Swahili and that penguins have more chance of understanding quantum phsyics than I have in understanding my tax award notice.

Hi i,m in a mess i have been living on my own with 14yr old son when late april me an hubby decided to get back he stayed over 31st april only to be addmitted to hospital 1st may i phoned tax credits i was told to let them know when he came home 23 aug the CAB said he would be entitled to wtc so i phoned they said how much we,d get but have not heard from them and not received a penny since aug i have phoned 3 times a week the last being 1st oct was told i needed to fill tc565 form in but they couldn,t say when it would be sent to us does anyone have any ideas of what this could be about Also turned down for IS apparently £142 pw is all we need to survive how does one get help with mortgage as we dont get IS we dont qualify for help but may do in nov when my husband ssp runs out at moment paying interest only agreed by BS i,m at my wits end and so desperate as my hubby is too ill to help and if he knew he,d end up back in hospital theres noone i can lend from PLEASE PLEASE ANY GUIDE LINE OR ADVICE GRATEFULLY RECEIVED:(:(:( HELP!
