4m * 4m hybrid conservatory/orangery

Hi folks, a little advice needed please!
We've currently got a 3m*3m conservatory which the people before us put up at the back of our house.
We want to pull it down as its not exactly nice, and replace it with a bit more of a solid structure. We had a quote last night from a local company (Newcastle area) for a new hybrid extension. Its a cross between and orangery and a conservatory, brick dwarf wall with brick pillars with the wall surface over 50% glass. On top is a glass roof, meaning it doesn't have to get planning permissions, so its neitherh a conservatory or orangery.
We have a north facing garden so are looking to get as much light in, hence why this is appealing for the glass roof.
To dismantle the old conservatory, build the new hybrid and fit it with electrics we've been quoted £15k, which seems a little on the pricey side to me. Can anyone advise?
