Can anyone suggest how I can get the tv to turn on?
The tv has no remote and last night I was trying to adjust the screen using the buttons on the back of the tv and I pressed the wrong one which put a childlock on, then I couldnt get it to go back to off.
Now we try to turn the tv back on and it will only stay on standby, nothing comes on the screen at all.
Does anyone know what to do?
I really dont want to have to pay someone to come out and look at it as im broke, but it isnt my tv, its my friends who is away for a couple of days and im housesitting.
PLEASE HELP !

Without make and model number that's going to be tough to answer.
If you can get that, the simplest/quickest solution would probably be a cheap one-for-all universal remote which you can just put a code in for that TV and then access the more advanced settings.0 -
It is Hitachi but i have no idea of the model number unfortunatly.
I dont mind getting a universal remote, but the problem is the screen is completly on standby so if I had a remote would that make any difference?0 -
The model number should be on the back of the tv somewhere?0

You'll need to get a remote that you can use with your TV, one of the cheapy ones that you programme to your tv will do and operate it from there.Estate Agent, Web Designer & All Round Geek!0
