Tune titles and artists on iPod

Hope someone can help here and its probably a simple thing to fix but here goes.
I got a new laptop and loaded up iTunes from my iPod Shuffle, previously when playing the iPod you could get a message when pressing the middle of the control (albeit in a fake American accent) of who was playing and what song.
Now when pressing the control all it says is Playlist 1,2 etc and nothing about the song playing.
Ive tried syncing the ipod again and had a look but it still beats me:mad:
Anyone help here
Cheers

    Symptoms

VoiceOver may not recognize song names or playlists on the device but will instead state "playlist 1", "playlist 2" or "audiobook 1", "audiobook 2".

    Products Affected

    iPod shuffle (3rd generation)

    Resolution:

    Solution 1
Verify that VoiceOver has been enabled.
If VoiceOver is disabled in iTunes, you will hear the default playlist names like "playlist 1" or "audiobook 1."

    Solution 2
The iPod shuffle (3rd generation) might have too much content—such as songs and podcasts—synced, so that it does not have enough room to save the VoiceOver files. Free up space on the device by removing some songs or podcasts and then reinstall the VoiceOver files using the steps below.

    Solution 3
The device may be disconnected from the computer before the VoiceOver files are generated and synced over to it. This can occur if iTunes is enabled to "Manually manage music" for the device. Reinstall the VoiceOver files to the device and leave it connected to the computer until you see the "iPod sync is complete. OK to disconnect" message in iTunes.

To reinstall the VoiceOver files on iPod shuffle (3rd generation)
In iTunes, select iPod shuffle in the list of devices and click the Summary tab.
    1. Under Voice Feedback, deselect Enable VoiceOver.
    2. Click Apply.
    3. Select Enable VoiceOver.
    4. Click Apply.
