Need a new monitor

My monitor has stopped working (borrowed a friend's), I think it is just a transistor that has blown (found one loose in the back!) frustrating because it was a good monitor and a replacement transistor costs pence but I would never be able to repair it.
Anyway, I need a new monitor and fancy a widescreen one.
Any thoughts on whether this Samsung one is worth getting?

Or this from Acer:

Cheers,

PS Watch films but don't play games.

The Acer 21" widescreen still available, might go for it in absence of any others coming up at the moment.0

You can pick u a flatscreen used monitor at most boot sales around the country for around £15 to £20. I bought an HP 17'' today for £19. Working perfectly.0
