Just witnessed an accident
Was on the M50 when a small lorry (7.5 tonne thing) pulled straight out as a transit was about to pass. Transit hit the brakes and i thought he had just done enough, but must have clipped the wet grass or the central reservation and next thing he is off to the near side and into the bushes.
Hit my hazards and slowed then realised i had no idea what to do next. The trucker next to me was already on his mobile so suggested i went after the lorry as he had just driven off. It was only less than a minute so off i went, took down his reg, stopped and rang the police to let them know
However my brain was like mush, i did not take much note of the lorry initially, just noticed it had an orange back panel, and this was the only one i passed, and i am sure it was the right one.
How to people remember the smallest of details?????

Meh, bound to have been caught on camera at some point..... If you have the time of the incident the Police can check the CCTV and narrow down the search.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Good for you OP. Many would not want to get involved."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Unfortunately not, they wont record the reg numbers, they are only basic cameras giving traffic flow and not detailed enough for reg numbers unless controlled by an operator and zoomed in specifically on a vehicle, nice thought.0 -
The trucker next to me thought it was a b&q lorry, because of the orange livery, but was not0

^^ TNT use orange too
Oh and driver might not have noticed anyway, this sort of thing happen's a hell of a lot and very often the driver is totally unaware.
The drivers of the 7.5's are nowhere near as skilled as those of larger vehicles. In fact I think anyone can drive one.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

i know the TNT and B and Q and was just orange, but had a newport number on it, besides he would not have left the M50 before i caught up and he was the only lorry on it with Orange rear, and when i passed and went up to a safe stopping point0

Sorry I'm not quite sure what you're asking. Are you saying you managed to get the deets of the lorry whose fault it was, or not? Fyi, in an emergency you are ok to call 999 using a handheld mobile while still driving along...0

as far as i know i got the details and rang 999 to pass them on. i was just observing that we all think if we see an accident we would remember down to the slighest detail and when it happens we recall very limited stuff.0
