non fault claims affecting premium!!!!

i am in the process of renewing my car insurance and this year wondered if non fault accidents where all monies were reclaimed from the third party insurance so did the money supermarket and go compare check twice one with no accident/claims in 5 years and the other with the relevant NON FAULT accident/claims shown to my disgust the premiums increased when showing the non fault accidents .....WHY ARE WE PENALISED FOR SOMETHING THAT IS NOT OUR FAULT

Because they still had admin costs to cover from the accident. It makes you a slightly higher risk. It may be that you did absolutely nothing and it was all the other drivers fault but they can't know exactly.

For example all the accidents in my husbands history have been other drivers going into the back of his car. It could be they are just impatient or bad at stopping or could be that he tends to look like he is about to go at a junction etc. and then doesn't so the car behind assumes he is going and gets it wrong. It doesn't matter because unless there are indications as to why it will be ruled the fault of the driver behinds fault.

It sounds stupid when you were ruled not at fault but unfortunately its difficult for insurance companies to accurately assess risk and we can't exactly challenge them as to their criteria.

If your getting quotes from comparison sites and you enter a non fault claim as well as your correct phone number, you will start getting calls from ambluance chasing companies.

If you've not got the quotes yet, save yourself a lot of grief and put a fake tele number in eg 01234 567890

Because you have made a claim. Statistically, that increases your risk and insurance is priced on risk.
