Bank Accounts and CCJ's

I have a CCJ that has been satisfied but will continue to be on my credit file for 2 more years, I have a Basic Bank Account with HSBC and have just spoken to them about upgrading it to a Debit Card Account along with a Savings account. I explained that I will have £2000 per month paid into the current account and that I want to save about £800 per month into the savings account and the only answer they gave me was to go away and come back in 2 years. Can anybody suggest a "GOOD" bank that will be able to help me?
Thanks in Advance.

There is a list of basic bank accounts at http://www.moneymadeclear.org.uk/pdfs/bank_accounts.pdf Nearly all of them offer debit cards apart from Santander and HSBC, but as you want a good bank I assume you wouldn't be considering Santander anway.0

Have you tried the Lloyds TSB basic account which comes with a proper visa debit card.0

Whilst the Lloyd's TSB Basic account may come with a visa debit card, that card only allows you to withdraw cash from Lloyds TSB machines. There are workarounds by using one of their savings accounts, but why open two accounts to do the work of one?0

I have been given a full lloyds current account, I have a CCJ from 2007, and 3 settled defaults from 2007.
prior to last month i could only get basic accounts.
if you get a Lloyds classic account, add vantage to the account (its free) it offers a much better interest rate then most savings accounts on the market these days.:j:beer: :j0 -
