Clue 1 - Flows for almost 100 miles.

First guess - MOJAVE RIVER, SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, USA.

Useless at these but Wikipedia says Mojave River is 110 miles long.

Thanks to all who have posted help with the clues.

I thought there would be a very low entry to this competition but just looked at the winners page for week one which shows

Day 1 - 0 people won
Day 2 - 493 people won 1500 points
Day 3 - 4009 people won 1000 points
Day 4 - 1155 people won 500 points
Grand prize Jason C from New Jersey won 30,000 points

Looking at the number of "thanks" for the answers on this site it is very low in comparison to other competitions.

Both my husband and I are PC members, have PC Visa accounts and use PC shopping website to get extra points. In other words quite loyal to Priority Club. Also just booked 8 nights in one of their Crowne Plaza hotels so I am quite dismayed that we have received no communication at all from PC re this competition and I only found out about it from week 2 on this site!

Maybe it is only being promoted in the US?

I got an email too but it was 2 days into the comp which was why I posted it late! Maybe you have to usually get your statement etc by email before you get notified? I use Priority Club a lot and my husband has an account too.( He got an email as well. )Thanks again for everyones help - hope to get a few thousand points in our accounts!!
