Panama City ideas needed

We managed to get some cheap BA florida tickets for November, and were thinking of visiting the Pan handle region of Florida, in particular Panama City.
Has anyone been there? if so we would be grateful if you could give us some ideas of things to do and where to stay.

Yes, went a couple of years ago to meet up with family there and they have stayed at https://www.chateauhotel.com several times. It is right on the beach and the rooms were comfortable. Also a live webcam so you can check out the beach and pool. Panama City Beach is within easy driving to other panhandle resorts like Destin. Have a look!0
