computer asking for password

Had my laptop a while now but when it goes to the idle screen it has started asking me for my password.
anyone help?

Right-click the Desktop, click Properties. On Screen Saver tab, untick 'On resume, password protect'.0

Select Properties
Click the Screen Saver Tab
Untick the On Resume, Password Protect0 -

another way to get to the same place is
Start Menu
Control Panel
Display (icon)
Then the Screen Saver Tab and unclick the same option.0
