There are 2 or 3 small retirement/over 55's developments in my area & as I keep my eye on the property market generally, intending to move & possibily downsize next year, I've noticed that these flats do seem to take months to sell.

There is one for sale very locally & it's very desireable, small block of 8 flats, block designed with communal doors per 4 flats, meaning 2 flats on ground floor, 2 flats on 1st floor for each section of block.

The rooms in these flats are wonderfully spacious & a comparable non retirement/over 55's property for sale would be marketed at a price in the region of £60-£80,000 more.

The particular flat I'm talking about has just been reduced by £15,000 in the hope of a quicker sale. The owner has now gone into care.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
  • I also have a small number for sale in my area and it's the same, they do seem to be on the market quite a while.

    Good luck with yours.
