Hi there, apologies if someone has asked this before, but I can't seem to find anything. And sorry if it's a bit rambly.
I have just been rear ended by a bus. We were stationary at the traffic lights (about 6 cars back). We were about 4 feet behind another car, they pulled forward, so I was just about to take off my handbrake and move off when WHACK the blimmin bus hit us from behind. He jumped out and apologised and said it was his fault.....did all the neccessary went through the motions.....now, we are a in a motobility car so the insurance claim is going through RSA, and they have asked us if we wish to pursue a personal injury claim and we have said yes.
Does anyone know how long it will take for a decision to be made seeinf as the driver has admitted liability?
I've heard that Bus companies usually just pay out rather than go to court, because they don't want the bad publicity etc.
Any ideas??
Thanks in advance.

Bus companies do not just pay, they have a reputation for disputing liability for an accident.
Having said that, your claim is pretty cut and dry so they will probably accept liability.
Receiving payment for a personal injury can typically take about a year.
Out of interest exactly when did the accident happen and what are your injuries0 -

Don't really want to go into specifics, don't want to jepordise any claim, just wanted general info....thanks for your info though!0 -
I agree with dacouch that bus companies do not pay willingly even on genuine claims.
The reason for this is that bus companies generally self-insure by lodging a bond with the High Court. They do have insurers for higher claims, but may have a huge self insurance level of tens of thousands of pounds. Some bus companies would do anything to delay payout so that they could hang onto the money as long as possible. The man without a signature.0
