Accessing my own computer in Administrator.......

hi,

my own personal laptop is an old work one which the IT manager had his own Administrator log in.
The company no longer exists and i bought the laptop from the receivers. Currently its very slow and it desperately needs some of the running processes disabling but i cannot do it unless im logged in as administrator!!!

Is there anyway i can log in as admin?? Otherwise im stuck with this painfully slow laptop

  • Is there important software on it? If not, it may be easiest to reinstall windows (I presume) on it.

I think there are ways to hack into an account which could be enough.

Unless there are important documents under the administrator then I would re-install the OS. It will clear any gremlins in the system and give a you a "new" system.

You can reset the password with this

I did it once in the past, but I can't remember whether it was this software or another one...
