Kodak printer not working?

Hi,
Can anyone help I brought some non branded ink for my Kodak ESp-3 printer since using them it dosent print correctly even with kodak carditage. Anyone have any ideas. The printer has new kodak cart and black comes out very faint or not at all, I clean the area where carditridge sits and it still not working.
