Receiving phone calls re computer problems

Someone phoned me today (can't remember what he said the company was) and told me that I had problems with my computer and it was caused by a lot of junk items and other stuff, and if I followed his instructions I could download a programme from his company(!) and they would sort the problem out. If you follow this advice you will give this person/company full access to your computer and they can download anything from your computer/load programmes into your computer (including keystroke monitoring) and all your security goes out the window. I just said "I don't think so!" and hung up.
Beware of these types of scams, they can make your life a misery.

Even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day, and for once I'm inclined to believe Withnail is right. We are indeed drifting into the arena of the unwell.

These are always but always a scam. There is a huge thread on this type of call which came up yet again earlier today - just page down a bit and you'll find it.
