It might be worth having a look at the Energy Retail Association's Code Of Practice For Accurate Bills which EDF are signatories on. Just Google it and have a read.

Erm not much info to go on. How and why are they doing this? If you have a tenancy agreement showing when you moved in then there is no argument. If they are stubborn, perhpas because there is a large balance owing, just send that in and they have to open an account in your name.
If your name was on the bill and it was a joint account you are both jointly and severably liable.Mixed Martial Arts is the greatest sport known to mankind and anyone who says it is 'a bar room brawl' has never trained in it and has no idea what they are talking about.0 -
no its not my bill or my partners bill its the ex tenant.
I have said i will sort this out with them im just peeved they keep threating me with coming in my property to fit a meter im going away tmz for my wedding to stay with relatives. They are just not helping and there staff are rubbish told them this over a month ago and nothing was done.0 -
Why did they send the bill to you?
Did you ever close the account when you originally let the property? If not, you may still be responsible for it.
But if you provide proof that the property was tenanted and the tenant was responsible for the utilities (by supply a copy of the signed TA), I'm sure everything will be sorted."Now to trolling as a concept. ....
