Some advice please on Yaktraks or equivalents. :) I'm an avon rep so will be out walking a lot in the winter and taking my daughter with me (and I can already envision the sledge with all the books on being pulled down the road behind us ;)) Anyways, do you think it'll be worth paying out the extra money to get the "pro" version? And has anyone managed to source them at less that £22 for the pro or £18 for the normal? :D I can't take the risk of falling, being a self-employed single parent means no work, no money!
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!

I'm gutted... My friend came over last night and put up the curtain rail for the front door... I went to put the curtain up this evening and I have no curtain hooks :(

Unfortunately patience is not a virtue I was either born with or learned so I am really disappointed that I can't put it up until tomorrow!

I got the pro ones as a couple of people had said that one pinged off and they didn't realise so it was lost... The pro ones have an extra strap so that can't happen. I decided it was worth the extra couple of quid rather than risk having to buy another pair...

(self employed single parent too so daren't risk falls)

have only worn in the house,as they only arrived today, but i've got the "winter tracks" from QVC. £18 for two pairs.(and go via topcashback )they go on to shoe easily and have a velcro strap that fastens over the top of shoe too.Reviews may help if you want to take a look.they have little coils of wire on the bottom, nothing spiky.

I bought these at the end of winter last year (after buying a pair of spikey ones at the start of last winter). These are so much better and have them ready for their second outing this winter. :T
  • cydeny65 - can you provide the ebay link for the foil liners? thanks!

    Hope this helps http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290608842670#ht_500wt_1287

Very easy to cut and shape to fit radiator. Go through topcashback and get cash back :T

I got my foil windscreen things from the 99p shop - worth a look if you have a pound type shop near you :)
  • I love this thread. Went to lidl today and they have girls and boys salopettes for about £8. They also had fur lined wellington boots for children.
  • Chilly here tonight while watching TV, themometer was reading 15.3 degrees. So..... i lit a couple of candles and took out my new wheat warmers, a big mug of steaming hot chocolate and now I'm toastie warm, without the need to put on the heating.

By the way half an hour after lighting the candle the themometer reads 16c, so thanks for the tip, a lit candle does throw heat.

All these little tips that I've picked up here really do work. Thanks:D
