Heating question...during the Winter do you just switch it on when you feel cold or do you have it on constant but with room thermastat set to 18 degrees (for example)...?
edited to say: never mind - timer better than constant apparently!0 -

There you go. They do look nice, but they aren't very big. I guess you could join 2 together - at that price it's still cheap. I'm going into town later so i'm going to have a look.
ThanksI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
There are other colours there too. I'm going to buy 2 packs chop one in half and attach it to the other so it's long enough for the 2 doors I want to cover and I've got 1 fleece left over for me then. I believe fleece doesn't 'unravel' so not too much sewing needed0

I know not everyone is close to an Ikea, but for those that are these fleeces have been wonderful (and a good size)
http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/00070489
Last year I used an extending pole and using wundaweb (sp?) to create a hem, threaded the fleece onto it and fitted it to my sons window as he only has blinds in his room.
When finished with, the pole can be retracted and easily stored till next year!0 -
They were the ones I was hoping to get but it's too far away...by the time I pay for petrol (or for postage) it worked out more expensive than the wilko ones and I'd still have to chop one up to make it long enough0

Heating question again...(answered previous one myself by looking elsewhere on MSE and found that timer is better than constant) what times does everyone here have theirs set to? My DH thinks the heating shouldn't come on at all during the night because we're all tucked up in bed.0

depends when you're home really. When we're working we have ours come on about 5/6am so its cosy when we get up. Goes off about 9 and back on 5/6pm until 10 or so when we go to bed. Often have it on for a spell in the middle of the day (overriding the timer) if it is chilly and I'm home0 -
Been lurking around and enjoying your posts and ideas. Question of my own now! Has anyone used interlining on their curtains? Is it worth the fiver or so per curtain? I'm ok using other curtains/fleece on most of the windows but the living room has 2 massive windows and fleece doesn't fit particularly well or look right from the outside on them.0

I use a timer - set to come on at 5:30 am (when I get up) and by the time I'm back from walking the dog, it's OK. Goes off about 1/2 hour before I leave for work.
In the evening - set to come on around 1/2 hour before I get in from work and goes off about 1/2 - 1 hour before I go to bed (depending on how cold it is).
Weekends - set to come on later in the morning for about an hour, a wee touch after lunch and again in the evenings. (I do override though if it's really cold).
When the weather was really bad last winter, I did change the timings and have it come on for an hour during the night to stop the house getting too cold (worried about my pipes!). However, it was at a lower temp than if I was up and about (I think it was 14 deg).Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
