hiya, can anyone advise me please. i want to start saving £100 per month, ideally in an account that i cant access so it builds up. i have had previous debt- which may still show on credit checks- i had to remortgage a couple yrs ago. any advice would be appreciated.

Stick it in Santander's 3% matching tracker savings account. Or a decent ISA. You will find a cash ISA with a semi-decent rate (By today's standards) and won't be penalized for making withdrawls. I think Santander's may charge for withdrawls.0

It might also reassure you to know that there are no credit checks made when you open a savings account. When you've given your money to someone else to look after there's no risk to them, so no reason to check your borrowing history. Credit reference agencies might be mentioned during the application process, but they would only be used for the purposes of confirming your identity (to comply with anti-money laundering regulations), and no credit search will go on your file.0

if you don't want access to your account there are certain regular savers accounts that don't allow withdrawals (most allow withdrawals but with a interest penalty). I believe HSBC do one0
