When can I move strawberry plants?
Ok well we have 2 raised beds of strawberries. One from last year and one half filled with new plants this year.
The older bed has sunken alot and we also have a number of the runners growing in the ground along side the bigger plants.
What I would like to do is lift the lot, add extra compost to fill up the beds and fertilize the plants for next year as well as tidying up the plants by removing any brown leaves and evening out the distance apart they are planted. I also intend to remove any weeds we have missed. Then replant the best of the plants we have.
But when is the best time to do it?
All my varieties have finished fruiting (I have some everbearers still going but they are in hanging baskets so will be sorted later). I was wondering about doing this now to give them a short period to settle in their new positions before the real wintery weather starts, or do i need to wait till it is colder and they are dormant? Or would spring be a better time?
Any advice/experience welcome

Now or spring. Now is better as they will be raring to go in spring.Freedom is the freedom to say that 2+2 = 4 (George Orwell, 1984).
