Unfortunately not my HSBC credit card account has disappeared.

HSBC have closed the account and passed to Metropolitan collections services who have said they don't know anything about it.

Happy times!!! owed £10K+ and no one wants me to pay them :T:T

Only probs is cant clear my credit report because I cant pay it.

How do you know Metropolitian have the account?

My suggestion is to go to Consumer Action Group and get a post on their debt collection industry.

When was the credit card taken out?
When was the last time you paid them any money?
I all have learnt is from others on many sites.
    Seek legal help if unsure.
Dont pay Private Parking tickets - they are mere invoices.

  • HSBC passed the account to metropolitan to recover the money.

However I called them both last night to obtain a full and final settlement figure

HSBC said cant help as the account has been sold to Metropolitan, and Metropolitan said they dont have the account.

As there was no open account with either no one could give me a settlement figure.

    Has it been written off?

I last paid HSBC in 2008.

A money advice centre has tried to sort this and so have I and no one wants my money!

  • opened the account in 1995.

HSBC said it was with Metropolitan and these are the only company they use as Metropolitan are part of HSBC.

You really need to go to CAG, google CAG and they will say what you can do.

Basacially as it so long ago you opened it up.

You need to request a SAR and also your CCA. They will need to provide you with the correctly filled credit agreement with your signature on it.

Please post on CAG and someone will be able to advise you what to do.

Likelyhood its been so long they might not have a valid CCA thus you can send letter in dispute. it will affect your credit file but only for 6 years.
