Honda SH50 Moped - how much oil in fuel?

Hopefully someone on here can help, I've searched around online with no joy!

The oil pump on my 1994 Honda SH 50 is broken, so it needs premixing. What ratio of fuel to oil should I use?

Gas is just americanese for petrol

32:1 should do it for a honda. About 3%

Thanks for that, I had found that one on google.

It's a bit generic though! As I understand different manufacturers prescribe very different mixes. Hoping somebody knows what mine should have.....

Honda it should be 25:1 for running in after an engine rebuild and 32:1 the rest of the time, 32:1 is about 3%

I had to phone my brother who fixes scooters he couldn't tell me, then my mate who is a bike mechanic, he had to get a book out.

Fantastic, thanks for the research! Was that ratio your mate found in his book specific to the SH50, or a general guide for honda 2 strokes?

General for honda 2 strokes since 1992! so you should be safe enough.

Think i used to empty a whole bottle (from the garage) to 1 tank of petrol, never missed a beat - not sure if that works out anywhere near the ratio mentioned above.

That is going back 15 years though......

Older ones used more oil.

BTW never buy scented oil it does something funny to a lot of engines. Plus my Brother got it tight from his buddies at a scooter rally one year as his exhaust smelt of fake strawberries.
