Wanna leave BT but huge Cancellation Fee!

That was so you didn't go onto a continuous monthly arrangement (and would then have the option to leave at short notice) - they like to make sure customers are locked in for at least a 12 month contract.I'm with TalkTalk and I received a letter advising me the contract was due for renewal and a couple of days later received a phone call from them asking if I wanted to renew so at least they let me know before rolling the contractTime has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Aharr: That's a great result!! I also had some joy with BT today....they rang in response to my formal complaint and put a credit of £56 on my account as an apology for the bad treatment I received. He said that it would cover if any cancellation costs if I choose to leave them but would lower my bills if I choose to stay!! So, I might stay til the end of my contract just to benefit from the £56 credit!!0
