Cancelling car insurance

Hi,

I am due to renew my car insurance soon. Not long after it renews I am likely to sell my car and not replace it with another - would I still be liable for my whole years insurance despite not having a car or can i just cancel?

Thanks for any info

You c an just cacel and they will return the pro-rata amount but will also charge you an admin fee (which could be quite hefty).

If it was me I would check wih the company before you renew and change company if necessary

Alternatively you could look at short term insurance (but that might be more expensive)

If you make a claim (or one is made against you) then you would still have to pay for the whole year's premium on an annual policy.
