Where to go walking/sightseeing bargain Oct holiday?

I'm looking to go on holiday anytime in October and would like to go to a resort where there are opportunities for walking and sightseeing. I'm not too fussed about fancy hotels just clean and basic suits me and I'm not keen on big rowdy resorts. I am looking at spending less than £200, if possible and want to go somewhere where the weather is reasonable - ie, better than UK.

Are there any countries, resorts and accommodation you suggest or recommend?

Thanks.

For walking and sightseeing, I would suggest Madeira or the Canary Islands. The former is more suitable if you want to avoid any rowdyness althought would be more pricey and £200 may be a stretch.

To be fair, at that budget you may have to compromise on the resort (getting a more touristy place).

As it's October you should also look at Majorca, I would imagine that will come in for that budget and walking is also fantastic.
  • How about Turkey and walk parts of the Lycian Way? depending on where you are flying from flights can be quite cheap and hotels are really cheap.

Thanks for your helpful suggestions. I've been before to Madeira, in November, and it was a great place to go walking although the weather was pretty rainy. I've never been to the Canary Islands or Majorca. I have had a quick look at the offers available and there seems to be quite a few great offers for my budget. I just need to check where the best resorts are for walking or sightseeing.

That's a good suggestion. Turkey is out of the Euro zone so would be cheap and I've heard of the Lycian Way before being great for walking. Worth thinking about. Many thanks.
