I have always thought because i have never qualified for working tax creds i wouldnt get any help with my childcare. Having to use my mother in law and wearing her out it was getting too much
So rather than not wrk i have looked at childcare options i now get 0.35p a week WTC so know i would get help with childcare.
I have had a look on there website to see what would happen come next years renewal whe I know I prob wont get WTC. To discover you get help even if not getting WTC and earnings of around £25k.
Am I reading this correctly

I think so yes, I'm just looking into it myself on the entitledto website which seems to be turn2us ?
It looks like we would get a bit of childcare paid, even though we earn enough not to get working tax credit.52% tight0 -
Childcare Costs
This is the amount of money you pay to the approved childcare provider for them to look after your child or children.
As part of Working Tax Credit (WTC) you may qualify for help towards the costs of childcare. If you qualify, the amount of help you receive will depend on your income.
You can get up to 80p for every £1:00 you pay out in childcare costs.
This is up to a limit of £175:00 in costs per week for one child and £300:00 for two or more children. Any costs that you pay in excess of these amounts are not used in the calculation.
This means the most you can receive for the childcare element is £140:00 (£175 at 80p in the £1) if you have one child or £240:00 (£300 at 80p in the £1) if you have two or more children.
You can claim for any child up to the Saturday following 1 September after their 15th birthday.
You can claim up to the Saturday following 1 September after a child's 16th birthday if the child is
• registered blind, or
• has been taken off the blind register within the last 28 weeks before you complete the form, or
• you receive Disability Living Allowance for that child

I always thought the income limit for WTC was 17k combined income. but looking on the websites today if are combined incomes were 22500k a year we would still be entitled to help with child care costs even though we will not be entitled to WTC.0

Also to qualify for the Childcare element of Child Tax Credits you must be working more than 30 hours per week.0

My partner and I qualified for help with childcare costs with a joint income of £370000

Are you sure? I thought it was at least 16 hours, but if in a couple both had to work 16 hours each unless one of the couple had a disabilty.TaxCreditHelp wrote: »Also to qualify for the Childcare element of Child Tax Credits you must be working more than 30 hours per week.0 -

It's 16. From HMRC:
Who can qualify? [for childcare costs]
You're a lone parent
If you're a single parent you must work 16 hours or more a week to claim help with childcare costs.
You're part of a couple
Generally you and your partner must both work 16 hours or more a week to claim help. Only one of you has to work 16 hours or more if one of you is:
ill or disabled and claiming disability benefits
in hospital
in prison - serving a custodial sentence or remanded in custody awaiting trial or sentenceSealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked
