Warranty Direct
Hi
I recently tried cancelling my policy with Warranty Direct. This was a policy that was taken out last year and the sales guy on the phone had told me that I could cancel at any time before October 2010 when the actual payments would have started. I have not made any claims on the policy and called them two days ago to request a cancellation; the nice lady on the phone said that it would be done and that I would receive a letter confirming this. Said letter was received yesterday.
However,m this morning I received yet another letter from Warranty Direct asking me to send them a cheque for £50 towards cancellation.
Im not planning to pay them this amount, but I'd like to know what the possible repercussions may be, if anyone knows. There was no mention of the £50 ccancellation charge when the policy was initially taken out.
Thanks
M

It mentions a £50 admin fee in all the policy documents I've read. Look at the Cancellations section under Conditions.0
