pension credit

We were wondering how long it is taking for claims for pension credit to be sorted out at the moment as we applied in the beginning of june. We have had a few problems with paper work going to wrong adresses etc and no record of other paperwork being sent to them but still after a few weeks we still have not heard anything and the operators we speak to cant tell us anything. Has anybody had similar problems

Depends what part of the country your in, different offices will have longer backlogs of work. It also depends if it was an application form or teleclaim. The standard answer is 8-10 weeks but if theres anything complex that will need a specialist decision (e.g. self employment, recent time overseas, changes in savings, other people living in the household) then you can pretty much double that timeframe.
The upside is that theres a big push on at the moment to focus on the old work & monthly targets to target the backlog rather than the new/easier claims.0
