When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :D

Morning everyone  wow I went to sleep at 9pm! That's unheard of for me, feel a bit wiped out right now but hopefully shortly I will feel fantastic! ;)

Went out for a meal with ds last night, which was lovely, before he went out with his mates (can't believe he's an "adult" already!) :)

No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

Thanks to everyone who posts competitions. You are the stars of the board :T:j:T
  • Gooood morning;)
Guess what - I piad off my Next account and last of the Littlewoods account, so am officially debt free:beer::beer: Quite pleased with myself...yes I have student loans but they're not being paid back yet as I don't earn enough and I guess there's no extortionate interest on them...so all ok:T

Anyway, no college yet so have a day off - even though I need to attempt my essay. Have woken up feeling a bit grotty - aching back, neck and sore throat...great eh?!:) So will get girls off to school and take it easy.
DNMS - I love my early nights - was in bed myself at 9.15 last night, I can't last any longer:rotfl: Glad yous son had a fab birthday!
    Ok, here's my list:
    • check banking
    • daily scratchcard
    • Packed lunches for girls
    • meal from plan tonight - sausages, mash, carrots, onion gravy, yorkshires...mmmm;)
    • return school uniform to school for refund...about £50 due back to me
    • Not an NSD - need to nip to Tesco for a plastic storage box for dd2's school books
    • College work
    • freeze chicken that I roasted on Mon
    • read Martin's email
    Ok, that's enough for me:D
    Have a lovely day all:)
I really need to sort out a new signature!

    Congratulations Millie on your DFD!

Not a lot for me today, really need to get back with it and onto the band wagon! This started last night when I listed 4 items on ebay that I was given for free - two already have bids on, am trying to do a littlekel and cover my car tax with them!
Kel, where are you by the way?!?!?!

    Here is my list:-
    - Do some OnePoll
    - Keep and eye on ebay items
    - Out for "staff meeting" tonight with work - this involved free meal and drinks!
    - Check banking and all CC's
    - Bring spreadsheet up to date, not done it for a while and think it's totally wrong
    - Snacks from stores
    - E-mail friend about girly "date night" this week
    - Try and sell one purge today! Very few and far between at the moment

    Jx
Nothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!

    Morning All :wave::wave:

Great news Millie  now get over to the Roll of Honour :D

    :grouphug:Fay

    So today I have/will:
    • overslept :o
    • spent a fruitless 1/2 hour looking for the battery charger for DD's car, I think DS1 has "borrowed" it  Need to take car to be serviced, Popeye disconnected the horn of the alarm, but I'm likely to travel some way with the flashers going apparently :o So I'll have to jump start it this afternoon - let's hope she's got more than air in the fuel tank.
    • read Martins e-mail
    • research best ISA for an unexpected sum that's coming our way :j
    • picked some cooking and eating apples - left the windfalls for the gardener, there's a limit to what I can achieve in the week I am here and the apples have always been a burden to me :o but I'll freeze some for DD.
    • washing out on line :D It's overcast, but dry
    • hair appointment :j:j at 1pm
    • start making lists of what more needs to be done before I go back
Have a great day everybody :A
