Please can anyone help with this?

I'm trying to edit a document on Open Office for Mac that was created in Open Office on an XP machine. It looks fine when I open it apart from the bullet points are now replaced by a symbol which looks like a flying seagull. How can I get the regular bullet points back?

I think I would take the line of least resistance and select the bulletted block of text, turn bullets off and on again. If that does not work, I would try going to numbers instead of bullts and back to bullets and if that didn't work, I would go to Format ->Bullets and Numbering and try from there.
