Insurance question
I'm a learner and have just inherited an old but reliable run around for practice and when I hopefully pass. As I'm not ready to give up dual control (only had a few lessons), do I have to insure the car straight away. It is taxed and MOT'ed (sp) but will be parked in a layby outside my home.
I looked at the Gov. website and is says it must be insured if in use on a public highway. Is it 'in use' if it's parked?
I asked my driving instructor and even he wasn't sure.

Depression is well Depressing. So I go shopping. Then I realise how much debt I'm in. Then my depression hits low and so I go shopping...

hi, as a general rule you dont have to insure the car unless it is parked or driven on a public road, if it is going to sit on your driveway or private land you wont need to insure it....however if some clown either tries to steal it or damage it in anyway you will have to foot the bill, also if it has no tax then you will have to SORN the car until you need to tax it..., hope this helps you0
