Who has informed you of this? I have just been on entitledto.com and I'd say you are definitely entitled to HB and CTB. Have you applied? Was it the Council's benefits department that told you this? Please apply. This is why you pay your taxes, so that in hard times you can claim some back :)

Thank you sofababe, I will get the form and fill it out again on saturday our council here takes up to 21 days to reply back to a form so will apply again if i can get it i won't have a change of getting a back paymetn I am determined to get this all paid off I have also been good and of course i had sky etc when I had my job. surprising how thigns can suddenly change when you least expect it I had been saving and when i lost my job i could get job seekers until my savings were a certain amount so i had to use my savings to live on.

You know sometimes when you wish you just had your mum to cuddle. thats how I am feeling today. I really miss her today. is that wrong seeming as i'm 24?

    Hi Everyone,

So I have managed to take a few things down and managed to get my council tax debt plus my current council tax bill all in one plan instead of £160 a month its £125 and gas amount of £51 being included in my payment plan. I am still out by £23.68 so anyhelp would be great. Also does anyone know if you can claim housing and council tax benefit when you are earning £238 a week and your rent is £550?

I'm 40 and still need a hug sometimes, and there's no one quite like a mum when u need one of those is there?
I know what u mean about things changing quickly. In June 08 I had 2 weeks booked off work for a holiday to Tunisia with my OH, 6 days before we left he walked out on me. I spent the 2 weeks crying and in complete disarray. Didn't go on holiday obviously so that was £622 well spent:mad: When I got back to work I was told that the store was closing in 2 weeks and I was being made redundant:eek: So in the space of 2 or 3 weeks I went from 2 healthy(ish) wage packets to one JSA. Quite a shock to the system, and the purse!!!
  • Hi Everyone,

Spoken to sky again they have said they can reduce it to £30 but will not go any lower than that even through i explained my situation so thats £19 off the bill and worked out that i do 8am-5pm that i could get another job 5pm-12am as well to be able get everything paid off quicker so would be up at 6am and asleep by 2am so that should work out okay going to start looking for a few positions now :D
