Hi
bit of newbie here
Heres the scoop. Moved back to my home town 3 months ago with my fiance as I was home sick. The town is very small and I cant get a job. My money has run out and my fiance is having to pay my rent, bills etc. I now owe him over £1500. This amount it growing every month.
I am trying so hard to get a job but it really seems to be who you know not what you know as there have been so many jobs that I was perfect for and met all of the specs yet never even got an interview. I have an interview with a new job agency tomorrow so hopefullly.......
I am doing all the usual suspects ebay, quidco, i points, r points, yougov etc. I dont think there is a survey site or ptc site I am not with. but they just scratch the surface
I am getting married next year and cant save for that, cant save for xmas. Wanted to get some cosmetic dentistry done before the wedding and no way will I be able to afford it now. Not seeing my friends as much now as I cant afford to go out and just generally feel down. becoming a bit of a recluse.
I just can really see a way out at the mo.

How far can you travel for work?
Are you mobile or do you rely on public transport?0 -
Dont drive - thats the other thing - really wanted to be able to start driving lessons but cant.
I can only work in my town. Cant afford to commute any real distance as cant afford it.2014 = New Year, New Me0 -
I can't see any reason to despair, ok you are out of work have you sign on as being unemployed? you may be missing on benefits. jobs what sort of job are you looking for? are you willing to do any work at all just to tied you over until a better paid job come you way, surely the small town you live in is not that isolated there must be other town within travelling distance.Yung

Have you signed on? Even though you wont get benefits it pays your National insurance stamp, and this is important for the future Also you can get help jobseeking from them too.
What does your partner do? Have they got a job then? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
i have been to see about signing on and its being processed at the moment. I am looking for an admin/secretarial role. I would do something else. Have applied for waitressing and cleaning jobs but dont even get an interview.
They are other towns close by but at the moment I have £13 of my overdraft left. Cant even afford train fare to an interview.
My fiance is training at the moment. He was left some money when a family member passsed away so he cant afford to train full time. He completes his training in 2 months.2014 = New Year, New Me0 -
mennie have you guys done an SOA before? this simply has to be the first place to start as if neither of you have any active income, money will run out soon, wont it? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? his money wont run out. When I say he was left some money - i mean a lot of money. he is also guaranteed a job when his training is complete.
He doesnt mind carrying me and doesnt even neccessarily want the money back but I have always been so independant.2014 = New Year, New Me0 -

I would suggest that you look closely at the cost of your independence. If your fiance is prepared to help you now, you will, both, reap the benefits later.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Ask your bf to buy you driving lessons for an early Christmas pressie. That should help you whilst retaining your independence."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)
