www.helpineedboxes.co.uk - Any others? How Many Boxes do I need?

Used Helpineedboxes.co.uk recently and found them to be excellent. Did shop around but what I liked about them was the fact it looked like an geniune company with a contact number etc plus the website was easy to navigate.
Ordered over the phone and found the staff to be really helpful and pointed me in the right direction regarding sizes etc. When you look at some box sites they look like really good value until you look at the sizes of the boxes which were tiny. I was very pleased with the quality of the products, the boxes were good and sturdy plus stackable and also bought some accessories including the mattress covers. Arrived next day as stated aswell. From my experience very happy with my purchase and would definetely recommend and happy to do so. The boxes have been passed onto my brother for reuse and I think he has passed them on aswell, so still going strong.
Hope this helps and I did find moving house a little stressfull.0 -
If you are moving yourself or just want to get started then use proper removal boxes. It is false economy to use really small boxes as this just means more trips to the van. Also single walled boxes are just not strong enough to take the weight of most peoples belongings.
Cardboard in the UK has become so expensive due to the closure of so many mills and with the hot topic of recycling; some supermarkets are now getting paid for the cardboard they give back. If you go to snip advertised site they sell either packs which include different types of boxes and accessories depending on the size of your move or a build your own section where you can select how many boxes you require. They even offer next working day delivery if ordered before 3.00pm. For moneysaving expert visitors you can now get a 5% discount of any of the products just enter the code ‘money9’ in the promotion code box.
It looks like you know what you are talking about but you would get a better result by admitting your connection to this particular box website. I do buy professional boxes and am happy to follow links when there are genuine recommendations but all you have done is put me off. This kind of surreptitious advertising does you no favours!
I notice your only other post was plugging the same website to.
PS are you Misscats too?0 -
I'm moving house soon, and I have far too much junk. However there is a cardboard box factory just up the road, so I'm going to give them a try.0

Thank you for your comments, I never said I did not work for this company and this is why their is a discount code for moneysaving members. I was only offering advice where to purchase high quality packing boxes as there is alot of difference in size and board strength. I did not write or am Misscat comments. We have hundreds of very very happy customers and feel that we provide a above average service to the mover.

Not only are you breaking MSE forum rules by advertising, your company also appears to be very expensive (not exactly money saving is it?)0 -
We're moving in 3 weeks time and I've been collecting boxes from newsagents and the local wine shop. if it helps I moved from a 4 bed house and have too much crockery etc. We used 120 boxes.
I moved from a 4-bed once. I think I needed about 12 and everything went into boxes as the whole lot was going into storage. Not huge boxes either. Smallish so I could carry them (I'm dinky)0 -
Go into McDonalds and ask them for fry boxes or premium (toy) boxes (but only the ones that the actual toys come in, not the happy meal boxes themselves as they come separate and are vastly weaker). The box size will vary depending on what size this weeks toys are, pot luck.
The fry boxes are very strong (the fries that come from the boxes are packed as 25Kg)and great for CDs etc, though you might need some bigger boxes for more awkward objects.
They break them down through the day, so they might be flat, but I'd always use a gaffa tape on all the seams anyway as added security.
Just don't ask when the queues go out of the doors. They're probably a bit stressed at that point!I am a Mortgage Adviser

Have a look in your local yellow pages for cardboard box manufacturers. You can usually buy them for peanuts as long as you are happy with the sizes that they are producing at the time.0

We are moving in one-two weeks and have just phoned Sainsburys to keep me some more.
I cant believe people consider paying £60 for boxes that you can easily get for free.0 -
I thought you might all like to know that kimm who was on here to advertise, and have now had their posts removed, actually sent me a PM to complain that I was questioning their motives for being on MSE.0
