Is this free advertising for my business or not?

A local rival has started putting a disclaimer on her adverts and her website as we share the same first name, saying she is not connected with me......
Is this free advertising for me, or casting potential doubt to new customers - what would you think?
I originally posted this on the Discussion time board, as I couldn't find this one, so if you've seen it before, I apologise......

Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

Hi Raksha
Personally I think that it seems quite negative.
If someone is saying that they are not connected with you I wouldn't say that this is advertising. Quite the opposite.
Good luck with your business:rotfl: :rotfl:

It depends what you mean by advertising to be honest.
It will get your company name known by more people on the simple basis that people will read it.
At the same time if you do have similiar names and they are significantly larger than you then whilst more people will know the name of your company less people will be confused/ mistake your company as being the other - not that I am saying to are intentionally trying to do "passing off"/ poach their customers if it is happening by accident then as long as it is in your favour then it isnt a bad thingAll posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
