Any up to date suggestions as to the best value-for-money TV?
I've spent hours on line trying to figure out the current leader of the pack. Any suggestions for a middle of the range quality product, and what features to go for.
Less than, say, £750. Suggestions for any standout deals?
Thanks.

Best to go for is a samsung. There the worlds leading LCD makers, and you will find some other brand are infact samsung displays with different casing. (and more money!!)
i'd go for this. http://play.com/play247.asp?page=title&r=ELEC&title=1060583&source=7999&engine=froogle&keyword=Samsung+32%26quot%3B+LE32R72BX+HD+Ready+LCD+TV
A friends just got it, xbox360 is superb!0 -

WOW!
That's just the sort of info I crave. I'll hang on for a few days and see if anyone comes up with any other gems.
John Lewis list something similar a LE32R74BDX instead of LE32R72BX..any idea what the difference is, apart from the extra £280? All I can see is baffling...is it the digital tuner..?
Your tip will be an enormous help. My guts tell me I will probably end up with this. Many thanks, Sam.0 -
B means Black
W means White
D means digital tuner.
Also with john lewis you get a 5 year gaurentee, which is great. They also price match retail shops. But unfortuantly the cheapest places are only online.0 -
have a look at the LCD section over at avforums.com, all the info you need wil be there0

Today's Guardian (27/9/06) gives the Toshiba 10 points out of 10
any suggestions as to biggest bang per buck?0 -
both are great LCD's.
maybe pop to your local john lewis to see the difference?0 -
We've just bought the Logik 32" LCD from Currys online at £599 plus £20 delivery and we love it. You can go and view it in the shop and then order it online for £100 less! Includes 2 scarts, HD ready and has a freeview built in tuner for all the freeview channels so you can chuck out your box!
HTHYou can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation.
PlatoMake £2018 in 2018 no. 37 - total = £1626.25/£2018 :j

They're cunning !!!!!!s, these retailers. I did go straight to John Lewis Oxford Street.
They evaded comparison. Their cunning plan to avoid seeing the difference involves displaying BBC terrestrial tv on the Toshiba and a special, dedicated Samsung HDTV sales demo on the rival. So you couldn't see the difference.
The Dixons Group has a different strategy.
PC World in Tottenham Court Road almost seemed to sabotage the Samsung by showing an out-of-adjustment model. This was immediately adjacent to a slightly more expensive Sony Wega with pin-sharp adjustment.
Any fule no they must go for the Sony.
Despite being DSG, like Currys, there was no Humax on display, though.
I'm now wondering whether I should wait for yet another price slide.
Cheers everybody.0 -

We are thinking of buying the Toshiba because of the great reviews it has had even when it was £1200, it is now £719 at dixons online, and you get 5% cashback if you go via the Egg site and use your Egg card, or I think 3% with quidco.0
