  • Just wanted to say thanks for the help this morning with things to look for, I found the CDMs and dormans spicy mix nuts hidden away in a random place.

Found Hello kitty notebooks, bright pink hard back with spiral binder and cat head silhouette (sp?) which is a clearance item, sadly going through as call member of staff at my store but might be working in others.

So chuffed with myself. Saw a strip of Dormen peanuts and bought two packets and they went through at a penny! Yippee!
Not so yippee when I got home and noticed the sell by date was in november:(. Couldn't very well take them back and complain when they only cost a penny!

Trip to tesco- take two. Saw another strip of these Dormen nuts. This time i checked the sell by date and they didn't exp til Feb12. Result. Got them to the checkout and they scanned at £1 :(.

Did manage to get some Glenans veg crisps for 1p and two packs of pistachios for 39p and a packet of Harry Hill cashews so still very happy.

I wouldnt worry too much about eating the nuts it is only the best before date, many items such as chocolate, biscuits etc are fine for months after this date

are the doorman salted peanuts 1p?
  • Dorman spicy nuts were restocked on clipstrips in Mr T in Sutt0n (I took the last few packs last week), and the new packs are still scanning at 1p and dated May 2012 so bought a whole stripful!

Still loads more in the beer aisle for any other MSEers.

The SA who I checked the price with was very surprised but also keen to know where she can grab some! hth
I have voucher codes for free places in the Cardiff Half Marathon 2017. PM me for details :)
