I have heard this before as it is claimed that the customer knows before paying what the price is .

Told my story on the misprice thread..
I bought some pork which had a sel on £2.77kg but on the pork I got it was double that... anyways .. after 3 CS assistants spending 15 mins calculating what DTD I was gonna get....After I asked for it...1 of them spotted I had paid at self scan and wouldnt give me DTD.. I was in a hurry to go to work so I just left it.. But I did call up HO next day and she said it doesnt matter how u have been overcharged u still get DTD..

popped into tesco on friday and thought id hit gold after finding a reduced packet of thortons moments - the barcode had no sticker over it so scanned that instead of the actual yellow label but it went through full price. took to cs and they only gave me the £1 diff and told me double the diff only counts if you dont self scan and a sa does - thats a new one to me - has anyone else heard this?

yes was told this in lesmahagow couple of weeks ago so more queues for tills lol

I always go through the till with a DTD, they can't argue then :)
I do wonder why some stores say SS invalidates DTD though there must be hundreds of innocent overcharges, HQ need to inform stores it's incorrect.

Hi macpep1 & magsmorris

W!shaw is the only one I've ever got 1p bargains from. Got adzuki beans way back, some koko's too, and some of the loyd grossman 20p pasta sauces. I'm happy to share any finds with you both. L@nark is my local but I pass W!shaw on the way home from work. Does anyone know when the C@rluke Mr T opens??

I have never had any 1p bargains :rotfl:more than happy to share anything I do find, the C@rluke one shouldn't be far off as we have a few machines back in and I passed it yesterday so I would think in the next few weeks!

You made a conscious choice not to scan the reduced barcode.

To say that you feel there is a principle to defend here seems to me to stretch things way beyond common sense.

It's Tescos overcharge policy, Double The Difference back if you are overcharged.
Next time in your store have a look at the big blue board behind CS.
