1p finds at Tesco thread

1. Why do some stores sell the 1p items with no problem at all.
2. Why do some 'customers' get thoroughly shown up by purchasing the 1 p items, which are out on the shelves to be purchased.
3. Why do the same stores that refuse to sell the 1p items, keep restocking their shelves with the same 1p items?
4. If some of the goods are EPW, this is obviously not universal throughout the Tesco stores ... rather a worry if it was for a serious health issue ...what is the reason why the goods are EPW in some stores, and not others?
5. Why does Tesco not have the same policy for every store?
These are the questions I will be emailing to the CEO office when I get stopped.
I did stipulate in my email that i wanted to know why i was refused the sale and yet the exact items were sold to someone 24 hours later so how did they go through the till, that there was a full box on the top shelf and would those be put out for sale, i asked for an explanation as to why they refused to sell items to me that were being sold in other stores, why they were classed as EPW when I had been advised this code is for "product recall" items. I also emphasised the fact that the SA suggested they could "do a deal" with me. Will let you know if i get a response.A home is not a home ..... without a dog0 -
Just back from T's, 2nd visit of the day!! No choc custard and teabags had the wrong barcode, but did get 2 doves, 2 yazoo milkshakes and a big bit of pork down from £14 to £2 something so not a wasted visit. The thing about the heart on the roses choccies being at the top of the box is embedded in my brain so much that I check everytime I go in:rotfl: I have a system at the moment and check for the loo cleaners, peanuts, roses, koko truffles, mices and this morning pet baskets,I know it all off by heart now, I don't even need a list :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I think I'm getting worse by the day!
I know exactly what you mean about checking, trouble is I'm starting to get confused which shop I am meant to be seeing which bargain in...noticed the Green Imperial Leather Foamburst today in Ts and was just about to make a beeline for them but realised thats one of Superdrugs offers. :rotfl::rotfl:
Can beat you by one today have been to Ts 3 times, last one found the Quality Tea Bags for 7p Barcode 5052320319411 they were mixed in with the wrong barcode (5000119098689) that are scanning for a £1, so have a good hunt.Only found 1 packet in the tea aisle but remembered, when looking for the chocolate custard (didn't find any
) that there were some on the end of an aisle and I was in luck again. They were over near the breakfast cereal (Tower Park, Poole) needed to check quite a few boxes as barcodes seemed to be mixed maybe another MSEer already had a rummage. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
It's definitely become automatic to look for the penny items and always had a list but the more I do it the more I seem to remember not sure it thats a good sign. :eek:0 -
Can confirm that only the iloom red baloons are going through at 88p at Abingdon (not £3.75 as on shelf) - they will be good for new years eve party.
No roses
No sign of choc custard0 -

Hi Giggles Fairy. so glad my post was of use. Can't remember who originally gave the tip on the whereabouts of the red heart on the 1p boxes, it was back a while on this thread. The flatter packs do have it too but it is near the bottom of the pack. It's funny how things stick in your mind. I just could not believe my luck. Unfortunately as the shelf space was meant for the shorter pack the shelf stacker had jammed these in on the top shelf so some of mine are bit damaged now as bit stuck on the shelf. Never mind the four of us are tucking into a box ourselves this evening for afters. So pleased you spotted them and got some yourself. :j:j:j
Is it any thorntons with the heart on that would be 1p? Or does it matter on the whereabouts of the heart?
I am actually quite surprised by how nice they are! The ones I got are in the bottom right of the pic that Malaga has just posted....
BTW Malaga - amazing pic!0 -

The heart has to be at the top of the box, it doesnt work on the ones with it at the bottom:)Beware!!!! Glitching is addictive:rotfl:0 -

Also some free spam, crisps, lenor. 5p OXO cubes, 10p tins of chilli, £1.99 dettol no touch (cheaper re-fils plus each box has 4 AA batteries!). Always everyday at 75p (80 per box, 8 boxes).
