1p finds at Tesco thread

you guys are very lucky up north but here down in the south nothing:(, went to my local tesco didnt found anything, saw the nuts they were 20p n all gone.... errhhh well better try nxt time .... but so happy for you all out there :T...its good to take money off tesco......:j:T

I checked, but the barcode was slightly different. I took it to the self scanners and it came up full price, so I shoved back on the shelf faster than lightening.

Hi welcome to the thread

If there's a self service till i would always use one and scan the items as quickly as possible. I don't bother bagging them up until AFTER i've paid, it just delays things and gives the SA more time to notice what your up to. Generally with SS tills I don't buy other shopping to cover up unless I specifically need something and then it will be staple items or whoopsies


If there's no SS yes I will buy an extra one or two items. There were no SS tills at the metro I went to today, after buying 5 of the truffles to check they were scanning at 1p , i went back with a trolley and filled it! I initially covered them up with a couple of packs of crisps because everyone was staring! Howevere I did also find some chilli peanuts and we needed a pizza for lunch (dr oetkers are half price) the i put the crisps back when i got near the till. The SA's did raise an eyebrow and said there must be a mistake but I just gently said I think they are being discontinued and tried to hurry her along by asking for bags and for cash back to distract her. It worked.

i don't mix mine with normal shopping. pure 1p finds for me.

my advice:

go to a SS till; that way, you'll be able to scan the items yourself, pay and take 'em away!

or

go to a manned till, but only do this if you know the person on the till well and are sure they'll sell you the 1p items

I brought 4 packs of 1p truffles on their own the other day but it was about 3am and I was on self service, probably wouldn't brave it on a normal checkout. Truffles are only my 2nd 1p item, although I often go hunting for them and when I don't find any usually buy something else so as to not draw attention to myself! I usually just think of something I'll need, if theres nothing I can think of I usually get some cat treats


I have visited 5 tescos on the hunt for truffles and moments..

Caernarfon - none - very small chocolate selection
Bangor - none
Llandudno - 4 truffles
Abergele - 1 open box of truffles - still took them as can't complain for 1p!
Broughton - none

I was near all the shops anyway - otherwise I would have spend about £25 on diesel for 5 boxes of truffles!

I was just wondering how much we all spend on petrol trying to save money with these 1p finds

I usually stick to my locals but the thought of those cute packets of roses overwhelmed me today and I sneaked out , OH wasn't pleased when I came home 2 hours late from work! Told him I took the long way home (via 4 tesco's) Still didn't get any roses though:mad:
