I feel it's rather unkind of some people to single out others, just because of their join date, or the number of posts they've made. Does it matter in the grand scheme of things?
Some of us have seen others take on new user Id's have we not?!! Maybe some of the newer posters have done the same, and even if they haven't and are truly new, this is a board to help others.
Don't deny your peers the opportunity to trout the newer members.0 -

I just want to clarify again that the point of a PM list is to give local users a heads up on which stores have a glitch. There are (at a guess) more Tesco stores in London than there are in Northern Ireland and given how quick the Kitchenware deal was getting noticed, it would have been handy if someone had PMd me and said that stores A, B & C weren't working but get your bum down to store D or E as they haven't spotted the problem yet, I could have benefitted. As it was, I had family who checked their local store for me and got me the knife block and crockery whereas my 2 local stores were on top of the issue.
It's not about being secretive, it's about helping out your local MSEers to save time and hassle by pointing them in the right direction. Another good example was on HDUK a night or 2 ago when the xBox & PS3 games were glitched. One guy made people aware of a particular store & location of where he'd hidden the remaining games so staff couldn't take them off display. That's the kind of thing that you don't want to post on here but instead if it's PMd then it's under the radar and everyone benefits from the glitch but the individual stores aren't aware.0 -

I totally disagree with what you say. The guy on HDUK did the correct thing, he mentioned he saw the games hidden underneath, took the amount he wanted and placed the rest on the shelf and made it aware to the community that there is potentially deals to be had at the store.
What you purpose is alienating people who do not wish to have their private information given out to strangers on a forum. Whilst small groups of people benefit from these glitches/deals
.
The deals/glitches should be posted for all and the people in the given area will be able to potentially take advantage of it. Not the select few.
You come across as a selfish person who wants to maximise their own gain.0 -

Selfish - how so? Did anyone else read my post as "I'm not going to post any deals I find" as I thought what I'd said was "If there are deals to be had then I can help my local MSEers by pinpointing exact stores instead of running around like headless chickens". I'll give you a bye ball on your comment as you're new on here and it's late at night but I don't appreciate someone making disparaging remarks about my character when they don't know what I've contributed on here.
If people don't want their information being made available that's fine. What they achieve by not joining is taking advantage of glitches and not thanking the OP or possibly finding glitches of their own that they don't report on. Which is the more 'selfish'? The person who takes takes takes or the person who gives but also wants to help those who help her?0 -
The problem with this forum is that everyone has become so suspicious.
Tesco DO watch this board and others on others forums, so they are FULLY aware of what the glitches are. Hence why we are GO GO GO as soon as we see one, we never know how long it will last. Some glitches have lasted several months, others a few hours. I'll leave it to you to decide which ones last the longest (ie the ones with the bigger profit margin for tesco) the meal deal glitch where you got 2 mains instead of 1 main & 1 side, seemed to last forever - massive profit margin, yet beer from the other week, was shut down almost straight away.
But as soon as it is posted on here it gives everyone all over the country the opportunity to go for it - you win some you loose some. I say pass to a lot of them (still reeling I missed the pans & knives one)
These forum posted glitches drive traffic into stores, we all buy extra when were there most of the time, so it''s good business for tesco. I'm sure it makes some statistics look good for them somewhere.
Your forgetting that tesco have the MOST sophisticated loyalty reward scheme in the world yet there incapable of correctly pricing items!!!!!
I would like to say that if tesco did have an account on here it wouldn't have less than 10 forum posts, it could even be someone with 1000 of posts and thousands of thanks. There could even be several tesco accounts. Stop pointing the finger at the newbies.
So please remember we were all newbies once, we've all been there, it's hard enough to join in as it is without attacking the new kids. Embrace them, they may have knowledge and glitches to share with us, just like everything else, fresh blood should be embraced.
This is an open forum anyone can rad it, even those without an ID. Its not about secrecy. There are others forums for that. We pride ourselves on being open to all regardless, welcoming and friendly.
Dont be jealous that theres more tesco MSE'rs just go with it, makes it more of a bargain when you find them before someone else does.
As for creating PMing lists of local people, it sounds a good idea but logistically its a nightmare, as MSE only allows you to send a PM every 30 seconds or so, so it will become very time consuming, then people will start moaning that there always the last to know etc etc. It's not a task I would like to burden myself with.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T

I would like to say is thanks to whoever left 1 pack of hankies in the store I was in today. Perfect for sons blazer pocket!
Also got a couple of them belgium frozen choc desert thingies.... how high in calories must they be, I daren't look! Oh, and the odd few 2 for £8, (half price? yeh, lol) ladies clothes items.....
A massive THANKS goes to all the OP's for letting us all know these deals!:j:beer:0 -
I am curious, What disparaging remarks are you talking about? You come across as a selfish person who wants to maximise their own gain. What you propose is selfish and means the "few" maximise their profits, which totally goes against the core function of THIS site.
I will not PM my personal detail to you, or anyone with my location, name or w/e you require for me to become a "member" of your personal glitch club, do that somewhere else, not here.
I did not ask you or anyone else to send me your details. If you care to read through the thread (First post mentioning PMs) you will see that I was not asking people for their personal details to keep things between ourselves. I was asking who else on this board was from NI and it seems to have snowballed into people thinking I have tried to set up some kind of exclusive club :rotfl: The only PMs I've received were 1 kind person asking was there anything they could look for at their store and with a couple of other users, comparing notes on trouts. Is there something against sending PMs to fellow MSEers?
When you start contributing to threads instead of mis-reading a few posts and having a hissy fit then I'll stop taking your replies with a pinch of salt. I will continue to post any bargains I find but in circumstances like the knives or mega blocks I will reserve the right to confere with local users to see if anyone can help out. That is what this site is about after all.
Sorry for contributing to this thread going off topic. If anyone is under the impression that I have been requesting personal information then let it be know that I haven't but if you want to send your bank details to me I'll tell you where to find some 1p socks :rotfl::rotfl:0 -

I cant wait to fill my face with my strawberry cake.
I only ever buy 1 or 2 or a glitch item, mainly because I know theres another waiting just round the corner and wont be able to take advantage is my freezer is full from previous glitches. And because I know how sad I feel when I get there to find the whole shelf has been cleared by 1 person in front of me. I don't do greed. I was brought up to share. But them people are usually the ebayers who dont normally empty entire food sections cos they cant post it.
I have got a few tops & leggings, oh how I miss Tesco clothing online code stacking - them were the days.
Just waiting for a glitch on TV's. hoover, PS3, Wii, them i'm sorted.
I'll wait patiently, my time will come.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T

I aren't suggesting your requesting setting up a personal club, you'r well within your rights to liaise with certain local members it happens all the time, there are people who meet on here then go glitching / bootsing together. I wouldnt do it, mainly cos you'll spend more time PMing and you will miss other glitches. I took 2 hours off this board one night and missed the glitch of the year.
When the boots sales arrive, I have had several people buy me things from stores far far away and then we have arranged a meet up or some other way to exchange the goods. Thats how we help each other out and why I love this forum so much, theres some fantastic, selfless people on it, who always think of others and not just themselves.
If you find a glitch, it's common knowledge that you make full use of it yourself before sharing it with others, thats your right for finding it. Then you share it and leave it in the hands of each person to go get it for themselves. If you liase with other MSE'rs there's nothing wrong with that, is no different to ringing F&F.
It's been a stressful few tesco filled weeks and I think people just need to calm down. Tesco will still be there tomorrow, they wont go out of business, because for every 1 customer who takes advantage of a glitch, tesco are taking advantage of 5 shoppers who have been over charged without knowing it. And there also seriously over priced, so some shoppers are overcharged fully aware of the price, but there loyal blind shoppers, who need to see the light.
Tesco could have sorted out their pricing system years ago and have clearly chosen not to. So it obviously still works out better for them. There will be more glitches.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T
