1p finds at Tesco thread

Just got 10 bags of the coffee for 1p each, the girl on the checkout said that there a few things going through at 1p at the mo but the shelf tickets are not being changed. She did say a mens shirt went through earlier in the day at 1p from the sale rail.
Thanks OP for the coffee tip!0 -
Well, i emailed Tesco this morning asking why I have been unable to purchase these 1p items every time and why the staff are so furtive about it, unfortunately they rung me whilst I was in Asda and the Asda announcment was playing, so she wasn't particularly accommodating.
The reason I got, basically that they put items down to 1p when they have been discontinued-when asked why they couldn't sell us them at that, she said they may have been recalled-I said if they've been recalled then surely that makes them dangerous and each one should be recalled, she said they are if they're dangerous (????) When asked what they did with the 1p items, she said it depends on the item but they're usually returned to the manufacturer.
I had a screaming toddler needing the toilet so couldn't continue the conversation really, but certainly not a satisfactory respone.
I also had problems in Asda with them overcharging me, and having to go to a different till to request my £2 giftcard, and then waiting 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge me to request my Asda Direct order and they where quite short with me. I give up with supermarkets, going to grow my own cows and veg and socks!
Hi, been reading this thread with interest as I have a friend who works in tesco - in our store once they've realised the 1p items go into the staffroom for the staff to buy at 1p! So that may be why cashiers are such nazis when it comes to the 1p items! They are limited to 6 of each item each, but if there's something one person wants but another doesn't they'll buy it for each other - which is how I ended up with 12 litres of baby juice and 7 packs of baby rice when my DS1 was little for 19p!
Thanks all you eagle eyed bargain hunters, going to look for coffee and socks tomorrow :TSo, there are these boys,
They kinda stole my heart,

Yeah I just checked the packs I bought and they have a hint of blackcurrent and citrus?
Mine went through in my local tesco at the normal price, had to purchase though as I was using the self scanner (the price checker is broken) and didn't want to look a fool in asking for it to be cancelled:o
No prob though as I like 'real' coffee“You’re only here for a short visit.

I'd have ask them to cancel it and just say you thought it was only £2 a pack or something. But still, if you enjoy it, it's goodI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

Got some 1p kilimanjaro coffee thanks - don't have a caffetiere or coffee maker can I use it like normal coffee? or is that a stupid question
Found 1 roll of the 6p masking tape, shame there wasn't more as this is great for making in school.
I did find some wrapping paper / gift bag bargains although they weren't 1p:
Hannah Montana gift wrap and tag 10p - purple cellophaned pack;
Large cream gift bag with black and gold spots 45p;
Bottle bags, silver and blue metallic sptripes 15p;
Easter wrapping paper and tag 10p - probably of no interest to most but great for me for school;0 -
Managed to get a couple of bags of the coffee so big thank you to the poster. Couldn't find any of the other items though. Could the person who gave the info about Mr T's cappuchino give a little more info please. I tried the big bag of value cappuchino, and the yellow box of 10 sachets but they both came up at full price on the scanner. Please could you let us know what sort of packaging and weight etc. Couldn't see the chocolate either. They only seemed to have value or a brand called Ryelands? I think. Wonder whether this has taken over from Discount Brand? Anyway good work all and look forward to seeing some more bargains soon
Flo FLo I am not sure using the coffee like instant would be very nice as you would have all the bits in the coffee! When you use it in the cafetierre it captures all the sludge under the plunger. Still for a 1p suppose you have nothing to lose.0 -
mens socks, mr men little miss, daddy cool are scanning at 1p0
